Guide Reading the Bible

The Verse Viewer

The Verse Viewer

The verse viewer is where you read Bible text. It appears whenever you open a chapter or search for a verse.

What you see

  • Verse text: Each verse is shown on its own line, with the verse number on the left
  • Controls bar: A sticky toolbar at the top with buttons to adjust your reading experience
  • Chapter navigation: At the bottom of the page, buttons to go to the previous or next chapter

Controls bar

The controls bar lets you change:

  • Font size โ€” make the text larger or smaller
  • Line spacing โ€” add more or less space between lines
  • Theme โ€” switch between light and dark mode
  • Study mode โ€” turn on concordance and word study features (see Study Mode and Concordance)

Reading tips

  • The verse text uses a clear, large serif font for easy reading
  • On dark mode, the background is very dark and the text is warm gold โ€” easy on the eyes at night
  • Your font and spacing preferences are saved automatically, so next time you visit they will be the same
