Guide Searching the Bible

Reference Search

Reference Search

The fastest way to look up a Bible verse is by typing its reference.

How to search by reference

  1. Go to the Search page
  2. Type a reference into the search box โ€” for example: John 3:16
  3. Press Enter or tap the search button

The verse will appear with its full text.

Examples

What you type What you get
John 3:16 A single verse
Psalm 23 The entire chapter
Genesis 1:1-5 A range of verses
Romans 8:28,31 Multiple specific verses

Choosing a translation

By default you see the Papiamentu translation (BSNP). To see the English translation (NASB), add a tag:

  • John 3:16 [NASB] โ€” shows the English text
  • John 3:16 [BSNP] โ€” shows the Papiamentu text (default)

You can also switch between translations using the controls above the verse text.
