What is the Zadok Calendar

What is the Zadok Calendar

The Zadok calendar is an ancient calendar system based on the priestly order described in the Bible. It follows a 364-day solar year divided into four seasons of 91 days each.

Why it matters

This calendar is used to determine the dates of the biblical feasts โ€” Passover, Shavuot (Pentecost), Sukkot (Tabernacles), and more. It also tracks the weekly Shabbat and the priestly courses (mishmarot).

How it differs from the regular calendar

  • The Zadok calendar starts the year at a different time than January 1
  • Feast days fall on fixed dates within this calendar (not the Gregorian calendar)
  • Each week is assigned to a specific priestly course

Don't worry if this is new to you โ€” the calendar page does all the calculations for you. You just need to look at it to see what day it is and what is happening.
